I have been trying to get this machine to give reliable prints since i got it earlier this year. after going through 3 bottles of resin, and waiting to see specs for the resins are (I didn’t see defaults for clear until today). I have been lurking on the forums here, looking to see if there was updates, or anything that pointed at making it more reliable. In that time i think the resin i bought has gone bad and now i can’t get anything to adhere on large prints.

 

If anyone is interested in buying a Slash, let me know. I don’t want to waste this much time and money on something this unreliable. I will give you a good deal.

I shouldn’t say “now i can’t get anything to adhere” as i have NEVER gotten a largish print to make it to the end.

Same here Ben. I’ve been nothing but disappointed with this company. The Slash is not a reliable printer as far as I’m concerned. It’s fine if you are a hobbyist but if you are relying on the printer for business purposes it’s too much of a gamble. I bought mine because of the specs, I liked the idea of the 10 micron capabilities(zero successful prints at 10 micron for me). The UDP feature sounded promising but it’s not going to work on large parts or anything with intricate detail. Also with UDP, I’ve noticed that if you hollow out parts to save on resin it creates a suction vacuum which leads to print fails. Who the hell cares that it can print an Eiffel Tower at 100 microns right? Sure there are a few people out there who have figured out the Slash, but that’s not enough to keep a company healthy.

I received my SLASH OL last week. I only managed one test print and it was somewhat defective, then the printer refused to work with a ” Resin Info abnormal, check resin bottle”. I spent over 1:30 hours online with the UNIZ engineer to remote diagnose my printer and he could not find the problem….. He told me he would need to work on it and that the support team would get back to me….. At least you both can print something…..

The onlyt think that i can print is about 1″ cubed. I wouldn’t call that anything.

I have had the same experience.  I was able to get the Slash to print once, and that print ended up stuck to the membrane on the resin tank, not the build platform.

The Slash has been an epic waste of time and money – I wish I could send this thing back.

May I suggest the Anycubic Photon. I have one and it’s been operating quite reliably for 6 months. Even does 50 microns without having to pay for an upgrade. The only cost around $500-$600 and you can get them from Amazon. I’m still waiting for delivery on a Slash OL ordered last Jan but after reading here I may not even bother with it. Seems UNIZ is a faux company.

Note:

The price for the Anycubic Photon is now down to about $415 on Amazon. Thats with Prime so it’s FREE shipping. This machine may have a smaller bed, but it is 50 microns and the lack of useless bells and whistles makes for really good reliability and simple operation. At this cost, if the LCD fails we simply chuck the machine and buy another brand new!

Your best bet is to demand an immediate refund. This printer is a FAIL. So many things done wrong! Uniz is a clueless, incompetent company.
