$3400. Really?

So, why did they use KS? It’s not open source. It’s not fully baked. They have the assets and the resources to do it right. Yet they throw it out there and won’t allow a community to help them fix their mistakes. Why bother with KS and a half baked, hobbled product that in turn creates negativity about their company? Bait and switch? Seriously?

I have a Slash OL that I got from KS. For what I paid it’s OK, but for the retail asking price? REALLY!? These guys need to look at their competition. DO NOT assume the bells and whistles of the UNIZ makes it a better buy! Users REQUIRE three things: 1. Reliability/Maintainability 2. Quality output (as in 50 microns) and 3. a supportive community. That last one is probably the most important. UNIZ seems to not have any of these right now. Even Wanhao can say they have all three and the D7 costs $500.

Here’s an idea… Make TWO 3D Printers. The Slash and the Pro. Make them UDP and unhobble the resolution and sell them for around $3400. THATS a competitive price IF UDP and Peel mode actually work reliably. Do that, and MAYBE UNIZ will be around awhile. From what I see right now I doubt it.
