Hi, you can clean it with the clean bottle which is filled with alcohol, fill the alcohol from the bottle to the tank manually, just like pump resin.

It should be empty or clean one.

What grade of alcohol is used for cleaning?

Ethanol oe Isopropyl?

Denatured?

If so, what percentage alcohol e.g. 70%, 90%?

Thanks,

Isoprophyl aka IPA. I use 91%.

Although I believe you can also use denatured.

Highly Appreciate your thought of making videos for starters.

Here’s tank cleaning procedure for your reference

If you use different resins frequently, It’s better get more tanks.

If don’t change too frequently, you can clean one tank and then fill with another resin

Thanks for the link, that is the best documentation I’ve seen for Slash so far.

One question, why does it take so long for the pump to remove the resin from the tank?  It takes hours and makes some scary noises?  Is there an upgrade for the pump?

Thanks,

Did you leave some space between head of rubber tube and film of tank?

If the head of tube is too close to film of tank, it will suck the film and cause this kind of issue.

Normally, it will take about several minutes to pump resin to bottle.

On getting the Vat to remove or redraw the resin… Here’s a tip…

Get a plastic spatula with a clean edge. You should have one anyway. NEVER use a metal or sharp edge on the polymer film in the vat! NEVER push HARD down when you try to remove a stuck bit. Better to drain the vat and lift it and lightly push from the other side with a gloved finger tip to get it to come off.

While the resin is redrawing sweep the stuff towards the resin tube and make it deep around the tube. I find it takes less then 5 min when I do it this way. It’s a good practice since you do need to inspect the polymer carefully for left over stuff stuck to it after every print. You also HAVE to sift through the resin to make sure there’s no floating pieces. You do not want them drawn into the tube!

If you have an FDM 3d Printer (which you should) you can make a sifter… Here’s one I made and posted to the Thingiverse:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2377792
