” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “

This is concerned my new SLASH OL that I received this week.

I has problem with an error message about the resin info earlier but managed to do a test print with mixed results.

1) Since  then I tried printing a dental model in UDP mode but the print was a complete failure.

I tried again either in UDP or normal (non UDP) mode and I keep getting the error message:

” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “

This is with the Gray UDP resin bottle. It has a rfid tag on it at the back….

I removed the bottle and re-inserted it and still get the same error message…

2) I also tried to calibrate the resin tank and bottle as per the instruction on the PDF from your website.

First I read both empty bottle and tank then push the CAL button.

Second: I filled the tank with resin to 4mm depth then pushed the READ button for the tank and got a 0 reading.

Third: I added resin in the tank to 7mm level and clicked the READ button and also got a 0 ???

I then clicked the CAL button and got an error message to the effect that the high reading cannot be the same as the low one. NO SURPRISE THERE but I cannot get anything else than zero even with a full tank.

I notice that the sensor is quite a loose fit in the slot in the corner of the tank and has a tendency to get loose.

I think this may be the reason why I ended up with some resin on the LCD glass (previous e-mail).

So far I am somewhat disappointed that things do not work as explained in the instructions.

Can you leave an email address or email to our support@uniz.com to ask for remote help? We need to check the signal of the FRID on your printer.

Ok, I get it.

on September 19, 2018

I am also getting the same error.  I’ll leave my email for you to possibly check out.  Also printing dental models

I was able to get it working by reversing the resin back into the bottle and cleaning the senor and turning the printer off then back on.  I do get the error that there is not enough resin left.  When I did my first print it did empty the whole bottle into the vat for some reason.

Uniz, this is a public support forum, please act accordingly and answer giving correct indications publicly, instead of routing each customer to private messages and isolate people.

I have the exact same issue. The resin level sensor DOES NOT WORK properly. Inacurate and fanciful numbers reported each time the READ button is pressed. Now when I change a bottle from orange to gray zUDP I cannot even print anything, I constantly get the “abnormal resin info” error of death.

By the way, why such RFID tags on bottles, since the software does not even auto select the correct resin type and we have to select it manually?

There is an RFID tag on the new resin bottle, and a reader on the resin bottle holder, if the reader can’t read the RFID tag on the bottle, it’ll show you the message ” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “.

BTW, you should connect to the printer by USB cable to calibrate the resin level sensor. If via LAN,there’ll be something wrong on reading, and we’ll fix it in next firmwarre version.

on September 20, 2018

In my case the printer was connected via USB cable to a laptop with UNIZ Desktop and I still got a 0 reading on both the low and high levels when doing the calibration….. hence the calibration failed.

I was able to do only one print so at that time the reader on the resin bottle holder did work with the Gray UDP bottle. After, with the same bottle, I keep getting the message ” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “.

on September 20, 2018

The RFID signal line and the level calibration signal line are on the same line, one is not connected, the other is also not connected.

It seems that problems with the resin sensor is not limited to my SLASH OL…. I see another thread raising issues with the resin sensor…

I have sent the requested information to Support@UNIZ and waiting for them to initiate remote connection to diagnose my printer.

I tried again this morning and keep getting the same error message :

Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “.

Replacement sensor ????

on September 21, 2018

I don’t think the problem is on the sensor, there’ll be a result after we diagnose your printer by remote connection.

on September 21, 2018

OK. I sent the requested info about the IP ect…

I am ready for the remote diagnosis….

on September 25, 2018

Remote diagnosis with a UNIZ engineer took about 1:30 hours last Friday evening and he was unable to make the printer work….. He told me he would work on it and support would get back to me this week….

In the meantime I have a “new” SLASH OL that does not work and I am waiting for UNIZ to find a solution.

I gave it another try yesterday and I still got the dreaded ” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “.

on September 25, 2018

I recommend you upgrade Ol to PLUS UDP, because there is no any limitation in PLUS UDP model.

Look my SLASH OL does not work. Since I received it two weeks ago I was only able to do one test print and that came out with mixed results, then it has totally failed to work.

I had the one week free SLASH PLUS UDP option activated but was never really able to use it as the printer SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK.

I spent over 1:30 hours online  last friday with your engineer and he could not fix it.

Then I was told to remove the rfid label from the bottle and stick it directly to the reader, which I did

I was told to re-set the z-axis by bringing the building platform down on the tank membrane, which I did.

Still the printer does not work.

So please do not ask me to spend more money for an upgrade on a printer that DOES NOT WORK.

As they say Fool me once – shame on me you … Fool me twice – shame on me !

on September 26, 2018

Hi  , sorry for your trouble, if our support and our engineer can’t solve the problem on your printer, you can ask our support for a replacement.

on September 27, 2018

I have submitted a request to SUPPORT on the UNIZ website for replacement of my defective SLASH OL, as per your advice.

Regrettably the SLASH OL that I received recently does not work as advertised… In fact it currently cannot print anything….

The UNIZ engineer has been unable to fix it and the recommended actions have all failed, including sticking the rfid label directly to the reader and re-setting the z-axis as per the instruction video provided.

Support@UNIZ has just replied asking that I wait some more and that they will answer when they find the problem…..hopefully tomorrow !

I get the same error message or that I don’t have internet. My email is augustdds@gmail.com can someone login in 3 hours when I get to my printer?

on September 27, 2018

I got that same message and I thought it meant my pc that was running the Uniz software had no internet. Turns out, it actually meant that I had not set up the network on the printer yet. It seems during the trial at least, both the pc and the printer must be connected to the internet.

on September 27, 2018

Hi Steven,

I connected to the printer with the IP address on the back then activated everything and was able to upgrade the firmware. Now when I connect to the printer with the wifi from the printer I get that error.  I can click on the connected printer icon, but then I get the resin error message.

on September 27, 2018

To Uniz Support, I am at my office now and can email you a team viewer login

on September 28, 2018

Hi August, I think you have a misunderstanding with the WIFI from the printer, it’s just for activation and the firmware upgrade, not for control printing. You should make sure that make your PC and the printer connect to your LAN(same wifi), then you can find your printer in the software after click the printer icon

As for the message about resin, refer below what I said before.

There is an RFID tag on the new resin bottle, and a reader on the resin bottle holder, if the reader can’t read the RFID tag on the bottle, it’ll show you the message ” Resin info abnormal. Check the resin bottle “.From Uniz Support

There is a firmware update from 4.2 to 4.3, which suppose to resolve the RFID problem. Please try the update and see if the problem still exists.

Thanks!

I upgraded to 4.3.  I am logged in on the Slash slicer. I am connected by USB.  It keeps telling me that I have no internet connection. I am typing this connected to the internet.

Can you please login into my computer with team viewer and fix it. Do you guys even QC your printers? It seems that everyone is having problems.  I have 3 friends who all cant get prints who bought this

on October 1, 2018

I also have the same problem and the way I go around this is I press the wifi and re-enter the password even though it seems that the printer is connected to the internet. You have to do this with while connected to the printer via USB.

on October 1, 2018

That is also a problem I have. I do like Jonathan and re-enter the password and it will reconnect to the internet so this is  a more minor problem compared to the rfid issue and the fact that the build platform does not come down. I have applied the rfid label directly to the reader on the printer, re-set the build platform as instructed by UNIZ, I have updated to firmware 4.3. So far no improvement and the printer still does not work.

So multiple issues with my SLASH OL… Lots of fun 🙁

I have asked for a replacement unit but Support@UNIZ tell me I have to be patient while they are trying to figure out what the problem is… I spent over 1:30 hours on a Friday evening, online with a UNIZ engineer and he was unable to fix the problem….

Not sure if my SLASH OL is a rare example of a defective unit or if it is a bigger problem…Based on this thread is seems that at least 4 others are unable to get any prints from their own machines…..

UNIZ… What say you ???

on October 8, 2018

After update to 4.3, when you start a print, the build platform still doesn’t move?

@August

Did you follow the activation procedure and key-in your home WIFI’s credentials to the printer?
