Sometimes it is a few weeks between using my Uniz Slash+ Printer but generally I leave the resin in the tank because I don’t like waiting for the tank to fill or empty when I want to use it. I have done that for years with my other resin printer with no problem. Last night I watched a Makers Muse Youtube video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kHcsTG9QsM ) where Angus passed on advice from Naomi Wu that we should keep our machines in a tray in case of tank leaks. I was hesitant to do that because I don’t want to interfere with the air flow of the cooling system.
Anyway, I went into my shop today and noticed a puddle on the floor. Then I looked on the workbench on saw the puddle of resin under the Slash Printer. Sure enough the tank had leaked. I am sure it had not been leaking a few days ago. When I emptied and cleaned the tank I noticed a small crease in the film/bottom of the tank where I think I dropped the build plate several weeks ago. That crease might be a hole or it might be just the seal around the film/frame that has started leaking. Now I will probably put my machine in a tray but I will probably extent the feet so there is more clearance for air flow and make sure the tray is large enough to not block the air.
I thought you might want to be aware the tanks can leak.
Cheers,
Doug
