Using LCD Controller board to drive a LED display

Hi,

So recently my 2008 Macbook pro fried its graphics chip and its just sitting there collecting dust. So I thought about salvaging the gorgeous LED screen to increase the screen real estate of my desktop. I also happen to have old HP LCD monitor with a dead backlight. My plan is to use the controller board from the HP monitor to drive the Macbook display. So I took apart the macbook screen and sure enough there’s a standard LVDS connector I was hoping for.But before I find the guts to connect the display to the controller board I have some questions.
1). Is it possible to interface the LCD board with the LED backlight?
2). The HP monitor had a maximum resolution of 1280×768, and the mac screen runs at 1440×900. Will this cause problems?

Please help.

I didn’t find the right solution from the Internet.
